Usability
People read content on websites differently. They scan around searching for what they need. Jakob Nielsen, usability guru, found this to be the case in his website usability eye-tracking research. When I write website copy, I write less, make sure it’s easily scannable and provide clear calls-to-action.
People-friendly copy
People-friendly copy is readable, engaging and useful. Consider your audience and reading levels. The average reading age in the UK is around ten. I keep copy, titles, navigation and menu items simple, concise and crystal clear. Website usability is important.
